Barber Dimes
1896-O 10C MS65 PCGS. Bowers writes in his Guide Book of Barber Silver Coins: "The 1896-O is one of the handful of top rarities among Barber dimes in grades MS-60 or higher." He adds of coins in MS65 or better: "One of the standard rarities among gem early Barber dimes." Indeed, only a very few examples have reached this exclusive level. Vibrant luster issues from bright surfaces that exhibit daubs of thin golden patina. A full strike is evident on the forecurls and wreath elements, including the corn kernels. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 8 in 65, 8 finer (9/17).
