Standing Liberty Quarters
1919-S 25C MS65 PCGS. Writing in 1986, Cline stated of this issue: "Usually mushy or soft, even when full head." The present Gem, while not fully struck up over Liberty's head and the eagle's breast feathers, displays uncommonly sharp definition over the balance of the features. The eye appeal is also captivating with dominant lilac-gray tinting yielding to a swath of olive-orange patina over the upper left reverse. A few speckles of pale russet color are noted toward the lower obverse rim, but we cannot find a single abrasion that would call into question the assigned grade. Population: 39 in 65 (1 in 65+), 15 finer (8/17).
Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2003), lot 6874.
