Bust Half Dollars
1818/7 50C Large 8, O-101, R.1, MS63 PCGS. An early die state with no evidence of the reverse die crack that forms later. The first 8 is large, and the top of the crossbar is visible above the slightly smaller second 8 in the date. This impressive Mint State example has satiny pewter-gray surfaces with vibrant peripheral gold and iridescent toning. Population for all three overdate varieties: 15 in 63, 12 finer (9/17).
