Bust Half Dollars
1818 50C O-111, R.1, MS64 PCGS. A small tine at the top of the cap confirms the O-111 variety. This sharply detailed near-Gem specimen exhibits lightly iridescent, lustrous surfaces, led by subtle shades of lavender-gray and pale-gold toning. The latest Steve Herrman report (Autumn, 2017) lists a single MS67 NGC as the finest known for the variety (which we sold back in 2002), with several MS64 coins tied for second-finest in the listing (9/17).
