1862 $3 AU55 PCGS. The mintage of three dollar gold pieces fell to 5,750 pieces in 1862, and continued to slide even further in the ensuing years. This Choice AU specimen exhibits only light wear on the well-detailed design elements, and the orange-gold surfaces are lightly abraded, with traces of original mint luster on both sides. Population: 33 in 55, 79 finer (9/17).
