An uncommonly well-preserved Open 3 coin, and really an outstanding example of the date overall, this Select 1873 double eagle displays frosty wheat-gold luster and bold motifs with only occasional contact marks in the fields. There are no singular abrasions, and eye appeal is excellent. PCGS lists 11 numerically finer representatives (9/17).
