1873-S $20 Closed 3 MS62 NGC. Most Uncirculated 1873-S double eagles grade MS60 or MS61; this is true of both the Closed 3 and Open 3 varieties. The current Closed 3 coin is high-end for the issue. The strike is bold, and the lustrous surfaces yield original rose-gold coloration. Scattered abrasions determine the grade. Census: 48 in 62 (4 in 62+), 4 finer (9/17).
