Liberty Double Eagles
1902 $20 MS62+ PCGS. CAC. With a low mintage of 31,140 pieces, the 1902 double eagle has always been popular with collectors, and while Uncirculated examples are not hard to find, one could search for quite some time before finding an example with eye appeal this exceptional. A few scattered marks on both sides explain the technical grade, but flashy surfaces, good coloration, and a lack of any real problems justify the Plus designation. While readily available in MS62, only four pieces have been deemed MS62+, with 92 graded higher (9/17).
