Early Half Dollars
1807 50C Draped Bust, O-102, T-8, R.2, AU53 NGC. Tompkins Die State 2/2, an early to middle state of the dies. Aquamarine and gold toning at the margins yields to stone-gray patina on the obverse, but the reverse is more comprehensively toned in the same colorful shades. All of the motifs retain sharp definition despite numerous light marks and slight wear from circulation. Overton-102 is a readily available Draped Bust die marriage, and favored among type collectors for that reason.
