Proof Franklin Half Dollars
1951 50C PR67 PCGS. CAC. A well-struck Superb Gem proof that is just starting to develop a trace of reddish-gold toning near the obverse edge above LIBERTY and below TRUST. The fields have a slight tinge of blue to them. Only the second year of proof strikings in the Franklin half series, with a mintage of 57,500 pieces. Proof mintages would top 1 million coins in 1957.
