Morgan Dollars
1891-CC $1 MS65 PCGS. The Treasury vaults contained merely 510 Uncirculated 1891-CC dollars at the time of the 1970s GSA release, but thousands more had been distributed from the late 19th through the mid-20th century. This Carson City issue can be found through MS65 but is scarce at that level and is exceedingly rare in higher grades. Each side lacks the faintest trace of color. A strong strike shows softness limited to the curls over Liberty's ear. A few small marks on the cheek and bust truncation prevent an event higher grade.
