Morgan Dollars
1893-O $1 MS61 NGC. The low mintage figures for silver dollars during this period, primarily from 1893 to 1895, was the result of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act that was passed in 1890 and repealed in 1893. The price of silver dropped from $1.16 per ounce in 1890, to 60 cents per ounce in 1894. This Mint State example from the New Orleans Mint has scattered marks and faint hairlines on its light silver surfaces, with peripheral gold and iridescent toning inside the borders that also outlines the central design motifs.
