1923-S 50C Monroe MS66 PCGS. A lustrous Premium Gem piece, toned golden-pink over John Quincy Adams' portrait, with iridescent blue intermingled with darker hues toward the edges. The reverse is similarly toned, highlighting the two female figures arranged in a semblance of the Americas. This example is rather bold for the notoriously poorly struck issue that it represents. PCGS lists seven Superb Gems finer (9/17).
