Lincoln Trial Impression in Lead. Uncertified. A trial impression from a medal or embossing die, featuring a bust of Lincoln superimposed on an American shield with stars and stripes. Struck on a lead slab, approximately 1 and 7/8 inches square. The devices are well-detailed, with some light wear on the high points. Exonumia specialist Paul Cunningham notes this extremely rare (possibly unique) piece is unlisted in his series reference, Lincoln's Metallic Imagery.
