1897-S $10 MS62 PCGS. Despite the innocuous mintage of 234,750 coins, the 1897-S eagle is surprisingly scarce in MS62 and clearly underrated. A handful of examples are known finer. Scintillating peach-gold surfaces display myriad small marks and a series of dark alloy spots along the left reverse border. Population: 35 in 62, 23 finer (9/17).
