Liberty Double Eagles
1861 $20 AU55 NGC. A Choice AU representative from a mintage of almost 3 million coins, produced during the first year of the Civil War as the hoarding of coinage began. This lovely piece displays attractive yellow and green-gold tones, with a few hints of orange present. The reverse exhibits a die crack at the upper portions of TES of STATES. As expected at this grade level, a number of scattered marks appear.
