Liberty Double Eagles
1872-S $20 MS61 PCGS. Micro S mintmark. The overwhelming majority of 1872-S twenties are in circulated condition, and even low-level Mint State coins are scarce. This fully lustrous example is clearly Uncirculated with brassy-gold color. Numerous bagmarks reside on the reflective fields, although the contact is mostly frictionlike and few individually discernible marks exist. Only a bit of central weakness precludes a sharp strike. PCGS reports just nine numerically finer coins (10/17).
