Liberty Double Eagles
1874 $20 MS61 PCGS. PCGS reports the lion's share of grading events for the 1874 Philadelphia issue, counting just 50 numerically finer examples than the present MS61 coin (10/17). Like most Type Two double eagles, the 1874 is scarce in any Uncirculated grade and rare in high Mint State conditions. This vibrant and frosted coin displays a good strike with rich-gold color. The expected obverse chatter exists, but no heavy marks distract the eye. Unbroken cartwheel luster sweeps across both sides.
