Liberty Double Eagles
1895 $20 MS64+ PCGS. While generally not thought of as a conditionally rare double eagle, the 1895 is a sleeper in Plus-Graded, near-Gem condition and it is truly rare in MS65 or finer conditions. This high-end MS64+ displays a cracking-sharp strike and attractive orange-gold patina. Frosted luster flows over both sides to reveal faint rose-colored highlights. Marks are at a minimum. Population: 27 in 64+, 5 finer (9/17).
