1858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-203, Pollock-247, R.5, PR45 NGC. The obverse has a hooked-neck eagle flying left with tall wings. The reverse is similar to that of the issued 1860 cent but there is no shield at 12 o'clock. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. A relatively common pattern, this particular piece made its way into circulation -- apparently for several years -- before it was noticed and pulled as "something different." Even wear over each side and original light brown surfaces.
