1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-213, Pollock-258, R.5, PR64 PCGS. An Indian Head obverse, similar to that adopted in 1859, is paired with the Flying Eagle cent Agricultural Wreath reverse of 1858. This piece represents the first die pair of this Low Leaves Reverse variant. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Over a dozen examples are known of this obverse/reverse die pairing. The original tan surfaces are just slightly toned in a reddish hue. Nicely reflective fields and strong definition throughout.
