(1906) Uncancelled Steel Die, Schuylkill Navy Regatta. Most likely the die for the drop of a hanging badge or medal, although possibly an embossing die for a medallic seal to be affixed to an award certificate. The Schuylkill Navy rowing team was active at the turn of the century in international as well as domestic rowing events and competitions, many of them held on the Schuylkill River. The die measures 2" in diameter and has a shaft of 2-1/4", in excellent condition. It weighs 2 lbs., made by William Jessop & Sons, a New York die maker and tool steel manufacturer.
