Anonymous. 211-210 BC. AR Quinarius (16mm, 2.08 g, 2h). MT series. Mint in Apulia. Helmeted head of Roma right; V (mark of value) to left / The Dioscuri, each holding spear, on horseback riding right; MT (ligate) to lower right. Crawford 103/2c; King 29; Sydenham 184; Type as RBW 466; RSC 33k. Good VF, toned, a little striking weakness.

From the Andrew McCabe Collection. Ex Vecchi 13 (4 September 1998), lot 640.

The Dioscurus at right on this coin, and on related quinarii with Q mintmark, is clearly looking backwards in conversation with his Dioscurus brother. Very charming. [Andrew McCabe]
