Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron Nomisma (25mm, 4.32 g, 6h). Class IIb. Thessalonica mint. Struck circa 1303-1320 or later. Half-length figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with four towers; sigla: К | Λ above, К | Ф below / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus and Michael kneeling to left and right, respectively. DOC –, but cf. p. 29, 472-7 and 480-7; PCPC 208 (sigla 204); SB 2396. VF, hairline flan cracks, light roughness, typical poor strike.
