Professor Stanislaus Sucharda, by birth a Czech, was a member of The Mánes Association of Fine Artists, which in 1902, was responsible for the first exhibition of Auguste Rodin outside of France, working with Jan Kotěra and others. In 1915 Sucharda was appointed professor at the Academy of Art in Prague.
