London 17th Century Tokens from the Collection of Quentin Archer (Part II)

Provenance: H.W. Taffs Collection, Glendining Auction, 21-3 November 1956, lot 584 (part); R.A. Nott Collection; Norweb Collection, Spink Auction 212, 28-9 March 2012, lot 672 (part), recté N 8741b.
The two tokens of Hawkins in the Norweb collection would appear to have been mixed up in the cataloguing for that sale: the better of the two, this one, which arguably should have been the specimen illustrated in the Sylloge, was acquired as part of lot 672 in the envelope which should have housed N 8741a.
The assumption remains that the latter piece was included within Norweb lot 770, housed in the original envelope for the present specimen
