The engraving of the names and titles of Timur and his nominal Chagatayid overlord on this piece is very unusual. The top line contains al-sultan al-adil, the epithets of the Chagatayid khan Suyurghatmish. The second line contains his name, Suyurghatmish, followed by khallada, the first word of the three word phrase commonly found on Timur's coins, khallada Allah mulkahu (may God perpetuate his reign). The third line continues this phrase with Allah mulkahu, followed immediately by the single letter a (which must be the first letter of Timur's title, amir), and the word khan (which refers, in this instance, to Suyurghatmish). The fourth line begins with the rest of Timur's title, -mir, above Timur, followed by Kurkan, Timur's epithet.
