KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.18 g), Amphipolis, struck by Antipater under Philip III, circa 323-320. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle with closed wings in right; to left, quiver. Price 110. An attractive example of fine style. Minor file mark near the edge, otherwise, about extremely fine.
