Herakles standing right, leaning on club on rock to right; at left, monogram MAT. HN Italy 797. AE. g. 2.67 mm. 14.50 RR. Very rare and in excellent condition for issue. Green brown patina. Good VF.
The Mateolani mentioned by Pliny (Naturalis Historia III, 105) among the cities of Apulia, would seem to have been responsible for this issue.
