Green chlorite scarab. Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty. Thutmose III (circa 1479-1425 BC). Scarab with simple details and piercing for suspension. On face, two uraei (royal cobras) and two suns (ra) flank the cartouche of Thutmose III (15x12mm). Large chip at head, a few smaller chips elsewhere. Scarce material.

The son of Thutmose II and Hatshepsut, Thutmose III was the sixth pharoah of the 18th Dynasty. He ruled for over half a century, during which time the Egyptian Empire reached its zenith.
