SICILY. Syracuse. Agathokles, 317-289 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.39 g, 3 h), c. 317-310. NI Wreathed head of Arethusa to left, wearing triple pendant earring and pearl necklace; around, three dolphins. Rev. ΣYPAKOΣIΩN Charioteer driving quadriga to left; above, triskeles to left; in exergue, monogram of ΑΙ. Ierardi 36 O7/R19. SNG ANS 638-639 (same obverse die). Very attractive and nicely toned. Minor scratches and with the reverse slightly off center, otherwise, about extremely fine.
