ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 168/7-148 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 16.94 g, 12 h). Head of young Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ / ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ / ΘΑΣΙΩΝ Herakles standing left, nude but for lion skin over his shoulder and left arm; resting right hand on club; to left, Μ. Prokopov, Silberprägung Group IX, 172-177 var (V Ib1/R-). SNG Copenhagen 1040-1045. Attractive and well centered. Very light flan bend, otherwise, good very fine.
