KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Stater (Gold, 20 mm, 8.51 g, 1 h), Byzantion, c. 230 BC. Head of Alexander the Great to right, with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated left on low-backed throne, holding Nike, in her right hand and a spear in her left, with her left elbow resting on a shield; below, trident; to outer left, head of lion to left. Marinescu Em. 47, 122.39 (O47/R116). Very rare. Struck from a worn obverse die, bang at 9h on the obverse, and with traces of mounting, otherwise, very fine.
