KINGS OF MACEDON. Antigonos II Gonatas, 277/6-239 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 17.08 g, 8 h), Amphipolis, c. 274/1-260/55 BC. Horned head of Pan to left, within the center of a Macedonian shield. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIΓONOΥ Athena Alkidemos striding left; to left, Macedonian helmet with transverse crest; to right, monogram of EPM. Meydancikkale 2588. Panagopoulou Period III. Well centered and lightly toned. Very fine.

From the collection of W. F. Stoecklin, Amriswil, Switzerland, acquired from Hess in Luzern in the 1950s or 1960s, and said to have been from the Coin Collection in Gotha.
