The fact that this coin was bought in Egypt in 1952 is, in fact, very interesting! Given the fact that Antiochos IV had invaded Egypt in 168, could it be that this coin had come with the invasion forces and then stayed there? Or did it just come to Egypt in modern times to be sold by an antique dealer?.
