PHOENICIA. Sidon. Baalshallim II, circa 401-366 BC. Double Shekel (Silver, 31 mm, 28.18 g, 12 h). Phoenician galley to left. Rev. Persian king and driver in chariot to left; behind, king of Sidon walking left, holding scepter. HGC 10, 236. Nicely toned, and with a particularly attractive reverse. Obverse struck from a worn die; some scratches and pitting, otherwise, good fine.

From the collection of W. F. Stoecklin, Amriswil, Switzerland, acquired from Hess AG in Luzern at some point in the 1950s, and once in the collection of the Coin Cabinet in Gotha.
