Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX, 1282-1328. Hyperpyron (Gold, 23 mm, 4.27 g, 6 h), Constantinople, 1325-1334. Bust of the Virgin orans within the city walls furnished with four groups of towers. Rev. IC - XC ANΔPONIK - [..] Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus II (to left) and Michael IX (to right) kneeling to either side. DOC 494. SB 2396. Unusual well preserved inscription for type. Flan cracks from striking and minor scratch on obverse, otherwise, very fine.
