Proof Seated Dimes
1856 10C Doubled Die Obverse, F-101, High R.6, PR65 PCGS. The mintage of the 1856 proof dime was unrecorded. The survival estimate is a minimal 30-40 pieces in all grades. This Gem example displays a full strike and deeply mirrored fields. The obverse is lightly doubled north, seen most easily in the lower gown area. A short die line is evident on the reverse from the rim to the R in AMERICA. A trace of light golden toning on each side is the only mentionable color. Population: 4 in 65, 3 finer (10/17).
