Standing Liberty Quarters
1918-D 25C MS66+ Full Head PCGS. Strike characteristics of Denver Mint Standing Liberty quarters differ markedly from those of the Philadelphia issues. Concerning the 1918 coins, the Philadelphia issue is frequently sharp on the shield and gown folds and weak on the temple and date. The Denver product, by contrast, is usually weak on the shield and gown lines and the head is often defined at the temple but weak in the vicinity of the ear. Full Head Denver coins are infrequently encountered. This high-end Premium Gem is a conditional rarity that shows generally a typical D-mint strike except that Liberty's head is fully defined and the date numerals are crisp. Beautifully preserved surfaces exhibit a delightful blend of gold, violet, green, and blue toning. Population: 31 in 66 (4 in 66+) Full Head, 2 finer (10/17).
