Bust Half Dollars
1829 50C Small Letters, O-103, R.1, MS65 NGC. Ex: Frank McCarthy Collection. The strike is even and well-executed such that the central devices are sharp and the peripheral stars are uniformly a little less than fully defined. Golden-toned interiors cede to lavender and sea-green borders, and neither side exhibits notable abrasions. As a date, the 1829 half dollar is rare in Gem condition, and this piece is the single finest O-103 coin attributed by NGC. Gems are high in the Condition Census for the variety.
