Walking Liberty Half Dollars
1916 50C MS66 PCGS. The 608,000-piece 1916 mintage entered circulation in early 1917 without much fanfare, and it was not until the 1940s that the Walking Liberty series became truly popular with collectors. High-grade Uncirculated first-year examples were scarce-to-rare then, as now. This frosted Premium Gem example is brilliantly lustrous and nearly snow-white with a sheer overlay of brownish-gray patina that is more prevalent on the reverse. The strike is pleasingly sharp throughout. Population: 113 in 66 (7 in 66+), 5 finer (10/17).
