Morgan Dollars
1884-O $1 Dollar -- Struck 15% Off-Center -- MS64 PCGS. A triad of condition, percentage struck off-center, and direction of the off-center strike make this 1884-O Morgan dollar uniquely indelible. Most off-center Morgans show light to moderate wear from circulation, and a significant number of the Mint State pieces seen are only slightly off-center, in the 5-10% range. This is a near-Gem that is widely off-center 15% toward 10 o'clock. The other hallmark of this coin -- one that separates it from most other far-off-center Morgans -- is that both the date and mintmark are fully on the planchet. Most of E PLURIBUS and, on the reverse, portions of ONE and UNITED, are off the flan. Satiny cartwheel luster illuminates the struck portion of the planchet, while lavender-gold toning warms the entire piece. A few faint grazes on Liberty's cheek are all that limit the grade.
