1887/6 $1 VAM-2, Top 100, MS66 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. The curve of the base of the underdigit 6 is visible on both sides of the bottom of the 7. The reverse is immaculate aside from a trace of a fingerprint near 6 o'clock, and the obverse has only inconsequential contact. A delicate trace of gold toning denies full brilliance. Uncirculated examples of this popular overdate are generally available, but Gems are very scarce and Premium Gems are exceptionally rare. None have been certified in MS67 or higher grades by PCGS. Population: 14 in 66, 0 finer (10/17).
