Morgan Dollars
1893-CC $1 MS64 PCGS. The reelection of anti-silver man Grover Cleveland to the presidency in 1892, along with decreased production from the Comstock Lode, led to the suspension of coinage at the Carson City Mint in mid-1893. The 1893-CC became the final silver dollar to bear the CC mintmark. Today, examples are moderately available through MS64, but in Gem or better condition this issue is a major rarity with only 16 such pieces reported at PCGS (10/17). This near-Gem is among the finer collectible examples seen. Satiny, brilliant mint luster cartwheels freely around largely unabraded surfaces, illuminating sharp design elements. Only some faint grazes on the cheek and in the adjacent field limit the grade.
