Liberty Eagles
1879 $10 MS64 PCGS. In 1879, ten dollar gold production at the Philadelphia Mint reached a high unseen since the start of the California Gold Rush. A total of 384,780 coins were struck, yet examples are surprisingly rare at this near-Gem level. Frosty peach-gold surfaces are boldly detailed with just minor softness on the forecurls. Trivial ticks on each side. Population: 13 in 64 (1 in 64+), 3 finer (10/17).
