Liberty Double Eagles
1891-S $20 MS64 PCGS. CAC. Medium S Mintmark. The mintmark is called "medium" and is larger than the so-called "Minute S." There are doubtless several varieties, although we are unaware of a detailed die variety examination of these coins. This Choice Mint State piece has many peers, but is rarely exceeded, as PCGS has only graded three MS64+ pieces and one finer example (10/17). This beauty has a sharp strike and wispy rose toning on its brilliant yellow surfaces.
