Liberty Double Eagles
1905 $20 MS62 PCGS. Double eagle production at the Philadelphia Mint was drastically reduced in 1905, probably because a truly large mintage the year before met the needs of the national economy for several years to come. Only 58,919 double eagles were struck in 1905, making the issue one of the most elusive in the Type Three series. This attractive MS62 specimen offers well-detailed design elements and the lustrous orange-gold surfaces show the expected number of minor contact marks for the grade.
