1906-D $20 MS64+ PCGS. One of just two Liberty Head double eagle dates from the Denver Mint, this borderline Gem 1906-D is vibrantly lustrous and well-struck for the first-year D-Mint issue. Sun-gold cartwheel luster radiates from richly frosted surfaces. Only a few shallow abrasions preclude a full Gem grade, which is seldom granted as witnessed by only 15 numerically finer pieces seen by PCGS (11/17).
