Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1925-S $20 MS62 PCGS. Although more than 3.7 million double eagles were struck in San Francisco in 1925, only about 1,500 coins are thought to survive, mostly in heavily abraded condition. Most of the known examples likely originated from foreign trade repatriations. Although only graded MS62, this Uncirculated coin is remarkably clean, with handling marks on the high points of the devices being the chief hindrance to a high grade. The devices are well-struck. Each side offers satiny lemon-gold luster and good eye appeal.
