1864 1C L On Ribbon MS65 Red NGC. Peach-red centers are bounded by orange-gold margins. A thoroughly lustrous Gem that boasts a full strike and essentially mark-free surfaces. Carbon is also virtually absent, and the eye appeal is impressive. The 1864 is a high-mintage date due to the Civil War, but most pieces were either copper-nickel or the No L variety. Census: 14 in 65 Red, 5 finer (10/17).
Ex: Chicago Signature (Heritage, 8/2011), lot 3098.
